Airports in Scotland
There a total of five Scottish international airports which operate scheduled services to destinations round the world. Two of the five are located in the Central Belt. Namely Edinburgh and Glasgow. While three of the five, Aberdeen, Glasgow Prestwick and Inverness are outside of it. The five airports in alphabetical order are.

Highlands and Islands Airports
In addition Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) operates eleven airports across the Highlands, Orkney, Shetland and Western Isles. These are mostly for short haul, public service operations. These are mostly run by four Scottish based airlines . These airlines are Directflight, Hebridean Air Services, Loch Lomond Seaplanes and Loganair. The majority of flights to and from Scotland are operated by EasyJet, British Airways, Jet2 and Ryanair.
