Robert Henryson
Robert Henryson was a Scottish poet who worked at roughly the same time as William Dunbar in the Scotland of the later 15th century from 1460 -1500. He grew up and lived in Dunfermline, where he is believed by historians to have worked as a teacher based in Dunfermline Abbey. He is also believed to have worked in Glasgow University at one point and where there several records of him are still extant. Henryson worked in Middle Scots and his poetry is considered to be some of the most important in early Scottish literature. He produced distinctive narrative works. Such as the Morall Fabillis and the Testament of Cresseid which are still widely read up to the present time.
